Q: Where do you photograph sessions in Virginia Beach?
A: I photograph sessions throughout Virginia Beach and the surrounding Hampton Roads area, focusing on outdoor locations with beautiful light, open space and natural scenery. Beaches, nature trails and parks are some of my favorites. I'm always happy to recommend the perfect spot for your session!

Q: What beaches are best for family photos in Virginia Beach?
A: Some of my go-to locations include the North End or Sandbridge beaches for their quieter feel and wide shoreline. Pleasure House Point has beautiful greenery, trails and calm water views. I'll suggest the best option based on your group size, time of year and the look you're going for!
Q: What photography sessions do you offer?
A: I specialize in family sessions, senior portraits and military homecomings, along with maternity and newborn lifestyle sessions. Whether you're celebrating a milestone or just want some updated photos of your family, I'll help you choose the session that fits your needs best.
Q: What is the best time for sunset photos?
A: Golden hour, which is the 2 hours before sunset. Golden hour is my absolutely favorite time to shoot beach sessions - the light is soft, warm, flattering and the sky adds that dreamy coastal glow. I'll recommend an exact start time when we book based on location so everything lines up perfectly.
Q: What should we wear for beach family portraits?
A: Soft neutrals and coastal tones photograph beautifully - think creams, light blues, sage greens and soft pastels. Flowing dresses, linen shirts and bare feet are classic and always feel natural at the beach. I also provide outfit guidance (and optional style boards!) to help you pull everything together without stress.
Q: How do I book a session?
A: Simply reach out through my contact page! Once we chat about your session type and date, I'll send over a digital contract and retainer invoice. When those are completed, you're officially booked - and I'll start helping with planning, outfits and location ideas.
Q: How far in advance should we book our session?
A: I recommend booking at least 4-8 weeks in advance when possible - especially during busy spring and fall months. Sunset beach sessions tend to fill quickly, so the earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we'll have with dates and locations.
Q: Do you help with location and outfit planning?
A: Absolutely! I'll guide you through choosing the best location for your group and vision and I'll also offer outfit advice to make styling simple and cohesive, not matchy matchy. If you'd like extra support, I can create custom outfit inspiration boards so everyone feels confident heading into the session.
Q: What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?
A: Coastal weather can be unpredictable, especially here in Virginia Beach, so I always keep a close eye on the forecast. If conditions aren't ideal, we'll reschedule or adjust plans to make sure you still get beautiful light and a wonderful session experience.
Q: When will we receive our photos?
A: Your fully edited online gallery is typically delivered within 1-2 weeks, depending on the season. From there, you can download your images and order professional prints directly from your gallery if you'd like.
